While looking through websites for an assignment I came across a number of pages that may be useful down the road.

• DesignCharts: is a bright site that has been online for three years now. They proclaim “Web Designers Are the New Rockstars!” I’d have to say I agree! It’s the “Top 40” chart for best website design and changes weekly.

• 20 Things I’ve Learned About Browsers & the Web: Everything you needed to know about the World Wide Web in a cute, illustrated book can be found here.  It’s the bedtime story for kids of every age in the 21st century. The creator takes the intimidating language of the internet and breaks it down to simple terms (with pictures!) to educate a broad audience.

• 8 Faces: This is a website for lovers of typography. It’s a site promoting a magazine. “The magazine has one core question at its heart — if you could only use eight typefaces for the rest of your life, which would you choose? — and poses this (and many others) to eight leading designers from the fields of web design, print design, illustration, and of course type design itself.” You can even buy issues in PDF form. Text is art!

• Dribble: Nope, it’s not the pool of saliva you left on the desk while falling asleep in class. This is, as the website simply states: “a show and tell for creatives.” Anybody – even non-designers – can sign up to be a “spectator.” To learn how to showcase your work, check the “about” section on the site.

• Creative Depart: Ever need a helping hand to guide you along the way? This site does just that. Is it about the journey or the destination? The goal of the site is “to reach out to all those beautiful, creative and enriching things in the world that enable us to evolve or simply be amazed . . .” I advise you to visit and explore the news and resources.

• The Best Designs: Simply the best…better than all the rest…Now that I have Tina Turner’s pop song stuck in your head, let me tell share with you a site that showcases the creme de la creme of Flash & CSS websites from around the globe.
