FLASH Class Project

Entry for Tuesday, 1/18/11
Subject: Creation

Whenever I hear the two words “Flash Class,” my mind goes directly to Jennifer Beals and “Flashdance.” Given the obstacles faced in this course – language barrier, overcrowded room, and unclear direction – I stood a better chance at succeeding as a welder auditioning for a prestigious ballet school than completing this project.  But, as with any challenge I’m faced with, I do so head on, and this situation was no different.

My first project in my Flash course at the Art Institute of Washington was to create a “Landscape” scene. The technical aspects which were required included:

  • Shape Tweens
  • Motion Tweens
  • Graphic Symbols

Below is my storyboard sketch for the topic “Lightning Strikes a Tree.”
